Roofing is one of the most safety-critical trades in construction. Working at height, handling heavy materials and using power tools in exposed conditions all carry real risk, but those risks can be managed effectively when the right systems, training and equipment are in place. At Anderson Roofing, health and safety isn’t a paperwork exercise; it’s how we protect our team, our customers and our customers’ properties on every job.
How we approach health and safety
- Trained operatives. Every member of our team works to current best-practice safe working procedures, with appropriate training for working at height, manual handling and the safe use of equipment.
- Risk assessments and method statements. For larger or more complex jobs, we carry out site-specific risk assessments and produce written method statements before work begins.
- Appropriate PPE. Hard hats, harnesses, safety footwear, eye protection and high-visibility clothing, as required for the job in hand.
- Site setup. Proper access equipment, scaffolding where needed, edge protection and clearly defined work zones to keep our team and your household or staff safe.
- Fully insured. We carry public liability and employer’s liability insurance for the protection of our customers, our team and our work.
A safe site is a productive site
Safe working isn’t just about compliance — it’s about doing the job properly. A site where the team isn’t worrying about avoidable hazards is one where the work gets done well, on time, and to the standard you expect. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every roof we work on.
If you have any specific health and safety questions about a job we’re quoting for, please ask. We’re happy to talk through how we’ll manage the work safely on your property before any work begins.
